Local Governing Body
The Governing Body, has responsibility for the school’s overall strategic direction.
The current Local Governing Body (LGB) is comprised of volunteers from the local school community.Governing Body meetings are held at several points throughout the school year. LGB meetings outline key issues that are required to be discussed and reviewed as necessary. Examples of these agenda items are, but not limited to; Attendance, Admissions, Achievements & Standards, Behaviour & Safety (Safeguarding), Finance, Leadership & Management and Quality of Teaching & Learning.
Attendance at these meetings is monitored by Trust staff from the TLC.
The Governors:

Make sure the school provides for all its pupils, including those with special needs,

Formulate the aims and policies of the school in collaboration with the TLC Trust,

Ensure that the National Curriculum is taught,

Support Interviews and appoint key members of staff.

Julia Babiak
In a long career, I have been headteacher of three schools including Thornhill and Tithe Farm. I have taught on the headteacher's qualification and other leadership programmes, at University College, London. I worked as a school improvement adviser to schools in the London Borough of Brent, and led on many aspects of pupil assessment for the Borough. I have a long-standing commitment to Houghton Regis particularly in getting the new secondary school (Houstone) for the town.
I am proud to be the Chair of Governors at Limetree and am delighted to see the many improvements that are taking place.

I have 15+ years’ experience leading technology strategy, global platforms, digital roadmap and high impact digital transformations for diverse technology-driven companies, including PEOPLESAFE (24/7 all workers protection devices), ONEOCEAN (global navigation solutions) and LONDON LUTON AIRPORT (large-scale business critical technology operations). Deploying a digital first / innovation mindset to bring next generation capability and solutions.
I am delighted to be Vice-Chair of Lime Tree Academy, my own two children currently attend the school. I am keen to see the school move forwards and help drive improvement.

Julia Turner
I have lived in Houghton Regis for many years and have a long-standing connection with the newly named Lime Tree Primary Academy.
I am the Safeguarding Governor and Send Governor on the Local Governing Board.
I am keen for Lime Tree to be involved as much as possible with the Community and for the children to enjoy all that it has to offer in order to enrich their education and life experiences, so as to help them fulfil their potential.
My working life was spent in the NHS and also in the hospitality sector.
