Music
At Lime Tree Primary Academy, every child has the opportunity to develop a passion for Music
The children are taught a range of progressive musical skills whilst learning about different genres of music. Throughout their time at Lime Tree, the children are taught to play percussion, ocarina, recorder and the glockenspiel.
Intent - what do we teach?
Our curriculum intends to inspire creativity, self-expression and encourage children on their musical journey as well as connect and share opportunities with their peers. We hope to foster a life-long love of music by exposing them to diverse musical experiences and igniting a passion for music.
We are committed to developing a curiosity for the subject, and hope by them listening and responding to different musical styles, finding their voices as singers and as composers, it will enable them to become confident and reflective musicians. Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity.
Implementation - how do we teach it?
